Title: Bake me your love
Length: Oneshot
Pairing: kaisoo ( jongin x kyungsoo )
Genre: bakery:au,
fail fluff, romance
Every day, Jongin enjoys the sound of bread crust
getting chewed, the smell of homemade bread that just got out of the oven
and the smile of the boy who works behind the counter.
Jongin tends to start his day by stopping by at a bakery
for pastry to cover him throughout the day. Despite the slightly exorbitant
prices that displayed outside the shop, Jongin wouldn’t mind losing a few pennies
for the boy in the white apron that works there.
Everyone morning, approximately at eight or so, Jongin would take great pleasure in losing himself in the depths of his personal
paradise, where two of his most favorite things are present at the same time – bread and Kyungsoo.
--
‘So its Kyungsoo,’ he thought when he saw the
name tag clipped just right above the shop’s logo sewed on his apron. Every day
he would order the same bread, Pane di Altamura, because that’s the
bread he once saw Kyungsoo make in the kitchen.
And just like that, it became his favorite.
Kyungsoo got use to the presence of the tanned boy every morning. Just
the sound of the bell from the entrance, Kyungsoo’s face would light up and his
heart would flutter when he sees the familiar college student with his books in his
hand.
“The usual, sir?” was Kyungsoo’s every day question which was
followed by a nod from Jongin and the both of them would exchange glances
before Jongin heads for a seat slightly further away from the counter.
He doesn’t want to keep a far distance from Kyungsoo, still
he didn’t want it to be too obvious. So Jongin would pick a table anywhere, as
long as Kyungsoo was still visible to his eyes.
--
On certain occasions, Jongin would be eating his whole
meal bread with a cup of coffee on the side.
Kyungsoo would somehow suddenly appears with a try with a cup
of coffee on it. “I thought maybe you would want something to drink to go with
the pastry?” it came out like a question which was very unintentional and
Kyungsoo would hurriedly skip to the kitchen with the tray held closely to his
chest.
And Jongin notices the slight blush on Kyungsoo’s cheeks. When Jongin takes the first sip, he imagines Kyungsoo's milky skin mixing with the coffee and felt all his apprehensions disappears with every swallow.
Somewhere behind the kitchen,
Kyungsoo was holding cupping his face with an apron - struggling to not to make
any shrieks.
--
Too bad the shop isn't open 24/7. There were
times where his heart would drop as he read the ‘close’ sign on the door. He
would empty-mindedly stare inside the shop, thinking that it would magically
opens and Kyungsoo would be at the counter greeting his arrival.
But Jongin is lucky. At the corner of his eyes, he notice
the paper bag with ‘Jongin’ written on it on the shop’s lilliputian mailbox.
When he opens it and finds out the item inside, Jongin felt the whole world
stops just a slight second and was happy for him.
Two pieces of Pane di Altamura - still hot and crispy - and small note.
‘Thought you might need them. Hope your studies go well. See you tomorrow. Enjoy.
–Kyungsoo’
--
Kyungsoo looks assertive when in fact he’s a gullible idiot. At
times, Jongin would pull a tease on him on how his bread was overcooked or
half cooked, too sweet or just tasteless. And Kyungsoo falls for that every time and Jongin finds that utterly adorable.
“You would never make such mistakes. Your breads are always
flawless.”
And Kyungsoo was sure that Jongin just took him to the seventh heaven.
--
Gathering up guts is hard when you barely have any. As much
as Jongin likes – no, loves Kyungsoo’s bread and self-made coffee, he would
love to take Kyungsoo out for a drink and taste other types of bread instead of his
own.
So on that Friday morning, Jongin was ready as he man
himself up and charged in. (Well, sorta.)
Ignoring all the customers that were browsing through the
menus, Jongin just burst his words out when Kyungsoo looked at him as if on
cue.
“I like you.. and your bread.. basically your everything – and,
um,”
Breathe in, breathe out. “Go out with me?”
Kyungsoo chuckled while handing over his order to him. “Eat
this bread, then it’s a yes.”
--
On weekdays, Jongin enjoys the sound of bread crust
getting chewed, the smell of the homemade bread that just got out of the oven
and the existence of his boyfriend, Kyungsoo who works behind the counter and serves him
free bread.
